Guests From Germany

Elder and Sister Shumway came from Germany to give us some training on the Single Adult Center. We learned a lot from them about how to improve our YSA Center. We had some extra time over the weekend so the Ashbys and us took them sight seeing. We couldn't let them visit Iceland without seeing the wonderful scenery and of course the volcano. When we were out by the volcano we had to wait until about 11:30 at night for it to get dark enough to see the actual lava shooting into the air. The pictures do not give the full effect, but it was unbelievable to think that we were standing there watching an actual volcano go off.

We stopped at a gift store and Sister Koyle found this huge puffin.

When we were at this waterfall, we could not see the volcano, but we could hear it rumbling. It sounded like loud thunder coming from under the earth.

These are the big trucks that they use to climb the glaciers and go off road. They are huge and the tires are huge. If you own one of these trucks you can just go through the water and up the mountains and onto the glaciers. There are many of these kinds of vehicles all over.

Notice the volcano cloud in the sky
